Marcus, Andrew, and the Dorians facilitated a global psychedelic dancehall throwdown at Teranga in the Market, November 2009 to August 2010. Then things shifted and sweat poured down at Double Double Land for a good long while. We took a break and spread MAMA love to other parts of the planet …
BUT NOW WE’RE BACK!

The full M.A.M.A. crew of Marcus, Alex, Merike and Andrew will be spinning future styles at Lula Lounge next Thursday, November 22nd! We’ll be on around 10:30 after the awesome Lido Pimienta’s set.
To be placed on a the list for special $10 admission, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with BRIDGES in the subject line. Regular admission at the door will be $20.
The BRIDGES series will foster connections between local and international alternative and nuevo latino artists. Lido is proud to announce that her first guest will be multi Grammy award winner, Hector Buitrago, known for his work with the hugely popular Colombian rock/pop band Aterciopelados.
This legend of Colombian music joins Lido to collaborate, experiment and interpret the compositions of both artists – building new spiritual and aural soundscapes. Buitrago and Pimienta will create a vibe of mystic tribalism to take the audience on a musical journey through a whole chromatic circle of sound.
As part of one of Colombia’s most popular groups, Buitrago fused socially conscious rock with a variety of Colombian musical styles receiving rave reviews from Rolling Stone, NPR and Vibe Magazine. In 2006, Hector released his first solo work Connector which featured guest vocal appearances by an array of platinum-selling artists including Julieta Venegas, Alex Ubago and Echeverri. The album is a musical and spiritual journey with Buitrago forming connections between different cultures, ways of thought and life through music.
Colombian darling Lido Pimienta would qualify as one of those true shining definitions of artistic truism. Her artiste qualities as a singer, writer and illustrator not only speak for themselves, they outshine their own spectrum. Lido currently resides in Canada, where she studies Art Criticism-Curation e, in short, she’s surrounded by color and to everyone’s luck, she’s aware of it. Color EP marks her first official release, an incredibly confident breakthrough album that’s already on the shortlist for best EP of the year. -Club Fonogram
